We Experienced a #NextGenC Research Week

During #NextGenC Research Week, we delved into how youth participation and digital innovations are transforming urban governance in Colombia. Here’s a summary of our most notable activities.

Day 1: Systematic Review of Urban Governance

We began with the document "Next Generation Urban Governance – Systematic Review" by da Cruz and Rode. This study examines global trends in urban governance and how they can be applied to our intermediary cities. Discover how these practices can enhance our cities.

Día 2: Participación Juvenil y Tecnología

On the second day, we highlighted Fleischer and Dedios's study, "Youth, (Political) Participation, and Technology in Latin America and Colombia." This work reveals how young people use technology to engage in politics and transform their communities.

Día 3: Tecnologías Digitales y Participación Juvenil Urbana

Exploramos cómo las tecnologías digitales están empoderando a los jóvenes con el documento «Digital Technologies and Urban Youth Participation» de Hamilton-Jones et al. Este análisis muestra el impacto de la tecnología en la participación juvenil urbana.

Day 4: Literature Review of International Organizations

We presented "NextGenC – Review of International Organisations Literature" by LSE Cities, a study that examines how international organizations address urban governance and youth participation on a global scale.

Day 5: Urban Governance – From Global Concepts to Regional Realities

The document by Martínez et al., "Urban Governance – From Global Concepts to Regional Realities," analyzes how global urban governance concepts are applied in Latin America, with a special focus on regional realities.

Day 6: Brief on Urban Governance in Latin America and Colombia

We concluded the week with the "Brief on Urban Governance in Latin America and Colombia" by Martínez et al. This summary provides a concise overview of urban governance in our region, highlighting challenges and opportunities.
